The target of the project is to develop a ball charge system for grinding mills, simply to move steel balls from storage to grinding mills. Project is started because there is no reliable, safe and automatic system for the task. Nowadays it’s more or less unsafe and takes man-hours. Feed system needs to be modular and fully automated to improve performance and quality of the outcome product of the grinding mill. The idea to this kind of system came from Outotec, a company who manufactures all main equipment for concentrators and also delivers complete process plants. The purpose is to improve process and lift the company’s image as a modern, well- organized company that takes care of safety and environment issues. The new product has to be fully automated and integrated to process control system to guarantee the quality of the product at all times. So far there has been few prototypes, some tested solutions, but still nothing functional and reliable for that kind of environment, and that is the reason they want us to create something new.
